CareChoice contracts with the following managed care systems. They offer a wide variety of health care insurance products to employer groups, individuals, and families. Many of these products are targeted to seniors, who purchase these products in lieu of remaining on the federal Medicare program. Because Minnesota requires seniors who are on Medicaid to have their medical coordinated by health maintenance organizations, most of the HMOs offer services to this population. In 1997, Minnesota developed an innovative insurance program known as MSHO (Minnesota Senior Health Options). This program coordinates an individual’s Medicare and Medicaid benefits and offers many benefits to seniors who enroll in this program.
